Loizza is a motivational speaker and social activist passionate about youth empowerment, advocating for human rights and mental health awareness. Loizza is the co-founder and executive director of Leaders of Today Canada, a youth non-profit organisation focused on youth empowerment and leadership. She is also the president and founder of a youth-led mental health non-profit organisation, Peace of Mind Canada. Peace of Mind brings together young people in their communities to share their stories and experiences surrounding mental health, with the goal of eradicating the stigma surrounding the topic and sharing messages of hope between young people.
Loizza’s passion for mental health started after losing one of her best friends, Miguel, to suicide on 17 June 2015. Loizza spearheaded her first fundraiser at the age of nine and has fallen in love with social activism ever since. In 2018 Loizza became one of the youngest recipients of the RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Award and became the youngest recipient of the RBC Youth Award.
She most recently received YMCA’s Peace Medal Award and currently attends the University of Toronto where she is pursuing an Honours BSc. with a double major in Mental Health Studies and International Development Studies with a minor in Urban Public Policy and Governance.
